Miniature Sweater with Tatted Collar

Miniature sweater witht tatted collar

Before Christmas I received an order for five miniature white plain sweater ornaments.  Every Christmas this woman’s grandmother would wear a plain white sweater and her grandfather would wear a red vest. The woman recently lost her grandmother and she wanted to have these to give to her uncle and siblings in remembrance of them. The uncle got a sweater and the red vest the grandfather wore.

So I drew up this pattern with little set in sleeves so the arms did not stick straight out. While making one of the fronts, I came out with an extra stitch on the front  so I tossed that aside and continued to knit the rest. While I was finishing one I thought about a tatted collar since the collars are hard to do because they are so small. On the five sweaters I used a roll collar  but it was difficult to sew the seam. I decided to use the front I had made and finish a little sweater and try a tatted collar since I am back into that hobby. I took the pattern for a tatted necklace and made the collar and then I just crocheted it on. So, here is my five hour sweater! LOL

Here is the link to my drop box for my pattern. 🙂

And Another Miniature Sweater

I made this miniature sweater in a Christmas green and the fairisle design in a white sparkle yarn that does not show up in picture. The neckline looks like it is a turtleneck inside of the sweater because of a row of stitching at the neck. The back has the snowflake fairisle design without the snowflakes. It is three inches tall and 6 inches from cuff to cuff. It has its own little hanger. It is for sale in my Etsy store

Miniature Knitted Sparkle Sweater

I knitted this miniature out of a yarn that I think is called Flash-not sure. Both the red and the white have a sparkle to them that the picture does not show too well. It is for sale in my Etsy store.

Miniature Sweater with Christmas Lights

I knitted this Miniature in tan and red because you could not see the lights on the red or green or navy. the second sweater I knitted a wreath by isolating the design. Then I  sewed beads and a bow on in gold. The collar is crocheted. The third one I have made before. All have covered hangers. All are made with Trenzado yarn  and all are for sale in my Etsy store.

Another Miniature Sweater

I knitted this little miniature sweater with roll cuffs, band and collar. I isolated a motif of tree and duplicate stitched with a green and silver sparkle yarn. I sewed the star at the top. It is for sale in my Etsy store.

Two more miniature Knitted Sweaters

I knitted both sweaters with the same color and brand of yarn. I took the picture on the left during the day and the one on the right at nightime with a flash. The one on the left is the true color. Both are for sale in my Etsy store.

Miniature Lace Sweater Ornament

Here is another little sweater ornament I made  in open lace design. I isolated the design on the sleeves. I duplicated the red stitches for color. It is 3 inches long by 6 inches from cuff to cuff. It is for sale in my Etsy shop.

2 Miniature Knitted Sweater Ornaments

I knitted two more miniature ornaments. One is a fairisle design and the other is plain with embroidery. Both were knitted on the Brother  standard machine with Trenzado yarn. Both are for sale in my Etsy store.

Miniature Knitted Cardigan

Here is another christmas ornament I made . It is a little miniature cardigan with 1×1 front bands and collar. The bodice is white and design is on back also. Four little green buttons are on the front and No, I did not make buttonholes! I used the Brother machine but I think the passap would have been easier. This was a lot of work and do not know if I would make again. It is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Miniature Fairisle Sweater

I made this little fairisle sweater last night. It is made with Trenzado yarn. It has the fairisle design on the back also. The cuffs, neckband and bottom band are 1×1 rib. I enjoy making these little sweaters but last night I realized how long they take to knit. I swear I could make a children’s sweater in the same amount of time. LOL  It is for sale in my Etsy store.
