Felted Clog Slippers with Needle Felted Design

This is my firts attempt at needle felting. There certainly is an art to it that I need to work on. I bought roving from an Etsy store and I am glad that I did. It is beautiful and has a much better quality than what you find in craft stores. The link to that store is

This project took several hours to do. It was fun and relaxing though. I can not get the color exact with my camera. The orange in the butterfly is only slightly darker than it appears and is in the color range of the light orange flowers. I also put two orange stitches in the heel of the rigt slipper to tell the difference in the two feet but that wasn’t necessary since the design is different on each slipper!

I won’t be able to do this project for awhile.  I watched a video and they said to be careful with your fingers being too close and getting stabbed with the needle . Yah, right. Well, they were right! I only stabbed myself and drew blood three times! lol

Miniature Lace Sweater Ornament

Here is another little sweater ornament I made  in open lace design. I isolated the design on the sleeves. I duplicated the red stitches for color. It is 3 inches long by 6 inches from cuff to cuff. It is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Felted Clogs for my friend

I knitted and  felted these slippers today for a friend. The nice thing about the stretchers is that everyone has one foot that is larger than the other. I was able to set the left and right for size with the stretchers. I also knitted 3 stitches in contrast color inside the heel  of the right slipper so that she can tell which foot is which since they are both a little different.I read an article about adding baking soda to the wash when felting and I believe it helps to felt faster. Don’t know that this is true but will test again on the next pair. The color is a wedgewood blue and cream.

2 Miniature Knitted Sweater Ornaments

I knitted two more miniature ornaments. One is a fairisle design and the other is plain with embroidery. Both were knitted on the Brother  standard machine with Trenzado yarn. Both are for sale in my Etsy store.

Felted Clog Slippers with Fairisle Design

This is a pair of clogs that I felted today. I just bought some shoe stretchers and that has helped as far as getting the right length and width. It takes a tiny bit longer to dry but it is okay if it is near heat since the stretchers are in. The fairisle extended into the toe part since the design was longer and that was a fun experience. I learned that you can do fairisle while other needles are in hold. (Brother Bulky machine).

These will be for sale in my Etsy store.

Miniature Knitted Cardigan

Here is another christmas ornament I made . It is a little miniature cardigan with 1×1 front bands and collar. The bodice is white and design is on back also. Four little green buttons are on the front and No, I did not make buttonholes! I used the Brother machine but I think the passap would have been easier. This was a lot of work and do not know if I would make again. It is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Miniature Knitted Sweater Ornament

This is a miniature knitted ornament I made on my Brother machine. It has stripes and fairisle in it and comes with a covered hangar. It is made with Trenzado yarn. It is 3″long by 5″ wide from cuff of sleeve to cuff of sleeve. It is for sale in my Etsy store.

Knitted Dog Bone Toy

I found this cute little knitted bone on a website that gives the written directions on how to make them .

I took the time and figured out the machine version for the Brother Bulky and this is what I came up with. Hers look nicer sewn up but my dog isn’t that critical. As a matter of fact, he grabbed them off the table before I could sew them up!. I just happened to have cotton yarn and made this in 1/2 hour. One picture is the top and the other is the bottom. I tried a second one without binding off each piece and  it was not worth all the bother. I would do another just the way she did. Once I did get the stuffing in and sewn up he grabbed it right away and was playing fetch with it.

Christmas Stocking Ornament and Gift Card Holder all in One

A girl I work with saw the little stocking ornaments I made and she suggested making one large enough to hold a gift card, theater tickets, concert tickets or money. I thought it was a good idea . I just made it larger knitting the same as the other ones. I gathered the stitches at the toe instead of grafting them and it is cute and easier. This one measures 3 inches wide by 5 inches long.  I used Bramwell yarn . This was done on the Passap E 6000. It is for sale in my Etsy Store.

Passap E 6000 Afghan Lovely Adult Size

This is another Afghan Lovely I knitted for the boss’s daughter for her birthday. It was supposed to be done by September 30th! She wanted white but the white- white is too bright. I think the off white is softer looking. I am glad  she agreed to the off white which is called Natural. If she wants the white-white one after seeing this, I will put this in my Etsy Store. It is 224 yarn, two strands together.
